Generate Demo Data
Advanced Product Configurator allows the user to generate demo data. Datasets make it easy to get started with the application quickly. Demo data includes, among others:
- configuration types;
- configuration type attributes;
- items necessary to create configurations;
- basic Advanced Product Configurator setup;
- basic company setup.
Important
In addition to Advanced Product Configurator objects demo data also includes base application Business Central setup and objects. Therefore, it is recommended to use a dataset in a newly created, blank company or in a company that contains CRONUS data. It ensures that company setup and company data are not overwritten by the Advanced Product Configurator demo data.
Choose the
icon, enter Assisted Setup, and then select a related link.On the Assisted Setup page search for the Advanced Product Configurator record and choose the Generate Demo APC Data Package action.
In the next steps, follow the assisted setup instructions.
In the second step, you can view the list of conflicts generated when preparing demo data.
Important
If the Assisted Setup detects that Advanced Product Configurator demo data has already been generated in a specific company, it will not be possible to repeat the data import. To repeat data import, it is necessary to set up a new company. The remaining conflicts do not impede data import, but they can generate errors while using demo data.
