Payment References
Electronic Banking Extension CH allows for adding payment references to transfer orders in accordance with the Swiss data exchange standards developed by SIX AG.
Transfer orders that contain payment references differ from the ordinary ones in the payment structure in the payment proposal file. For this reason, a separate transfer order has to be created for each type of payment reference. For transfer orders in the case of which payment references are used, it is not necessary to provide al transfer title.
Types of Payment References in Switzerland
For payments made in euros and Swiss francs in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, you can use one of the two types of references: QR Reference or ISO 11649 creditor reference. The QR reference is directly related to the QR-Bill functionality. Electronic Banking Extension CH provides an interface for handling transfers with QR Reference.
Documents that Contain the QR Reference Field
Electronic Banking Extension CH adds a new QR Reference field to the following purchase documents:
- purchase invoice,
- posted purchase invoice,
- purchase order.
The QR Reference field is also available from sales documents:
- sales invoice,
- posted sales invoice,
- sales order.
Important
To ensure that payment reference information is automatically entered in the payment proposals, fill in the QR Reference field on the corresponding purchase or sale document.
The payment reference code in the QR Reference filed is automatically entered in vendor ledger entries, customer ledger entries, or employee ledger entries when posted. The QR Reference code is used when creating a payment proposal.
Processing Payment References in a Payment Proposal
With Electronic Banking Extension CH, you can generate payment proposals with payment references.
On the Payment Proposal page, a QR Reference field has been added, and the value of this field is:
- copied from the QR Reference field in the vendor ledger entry, customer ledger entry or employee ledger entry linked to the payment proposal line, or
- entered based on the value assigned manually on the Payment Proposal Lines page.
If the field is not empty, the selected transfer order will be executed as a QR Reference type, and the structure of the transaction in the payment proposal will correspond to the standard structure for this payment type.
Important
In order to ensure that transfer orders that contain a QR reference are processed correctly, the recipient's bank account number must be entered in the QR-IBAN format. For more information, read OR-IBAN.
