KID (Kunde ID)
To meet local requirements in Norway, Electronic Banking Extension NO provides features for including the customer identification number, the so-called KID (Kunde ID) in transfer orders. The Kunde ID (KID) represents the payment reference for the customer and ensures that the payment is correctly posted to the vendor. If the received document contains a KID number, it is recommended to add this number in the transfer order, because the fees that are charged for transfers without KID references might be higher.
Types of Payment References in Norway
When making payment to Norway or Sweden, it is possible to provide a reference id of the customer, i.e. KID (Kunde ID).
Important
Transfer orders that contain the KID (Kunde ID) reference can only be processed, if the Sender Bank Country/Region or Recipient Bank Country/Region Code fields contain NO or SE.
In order to handle KID payment references in the Electronic Banking Extension NO, the KID field has been added:
- in the Lines section on the Payment Proposal page,
- in the Lines section on the Bank Statement page,
- in the Lines section on the on the Arch. Payment Proposal page,
- in the Lines section of the Posted Bank Statement Card page.
In addition, the KID field is displayed:
- in the Lines on the Vendor Payment Worksheet page.
Handling KID (Kunde ID, customer identification number) Payment References in a Payment Proposal
Electronic Banking Extension NO extends the Payment Proposal page with the KID field. Its value is copied from the KID field in a payment proposal line, or entered based on the value that was manually assigned in the Lines field on the Payment Proposal page.
If you select an aggregation method other than No Aggregation, the transfer order aggregation will be blocked and separate lines will be created for each of the entries.
Important
To send a transfer order with the KID field value, you need to use interfaces that support payments with KID reference.
Important
Payments containing a KID cannot be aggregated.
Note
In order for a payment to be processed correctly by the bank, the structure of the KID payment reference must comply with the structure agreed with the bank under the service agreement. The following rules describe the structure of KID payment references:
the length of the reference should be between 2 and 25 characters;
a reference can consist of 4 parts:
- customer ID (optional part) - specifies the unique identifier of the customer; for easier identification, it is recommended that the customer ID be fixed for payments linked to the customer or service;
- payment type (optional part) - can be used to distinguish payments for different goods or services by one contractor;
- document number (obligatory part) - specifies the unique identifier of the invoice or transfer order;
- control digit (obligatory part) - helps to ensure that the number has not been changed during processing; it is calculated based on the modulo 10 or modulo 11 operations.
Processing KID Payment References in a Bank Statement
Electronic Banking Extension NO extends the bank statement card with the KID field. KID payment references are used to match relevant entries across vendor ledger entries in order to apply such entries against relevant bank statement lines.
In the case of a customer, to ensure that the system correctly recognizes the payment based on the KID reference, first select one of the options to read this number in the KID Setup field on the Sales & Receivables Setup page:
- Document No.,
- Document No. + Customer No.,
- Customer No. + Document No.,
- Document Type + Document No.,
- Document No. + Document Type.
The Document No. length and Customer No. length fields should be filled. The document number is extracted from the KID payment reference and is used to match relevant entries across customer ledger entries in order to apply such entries against relevant bank statement lines.
Important
KID setup are available only on the Norwegian layer.
