Bank Statement Templates
Bank statement templates can be used in a way similar to payment proposal templates - they are a link between the bank statement interface and a bank account. The main difference is the possibility to assign more than one bank account to the template. This is due to the fact that some banks may use bank statements that contain entries for more than one bank account.
Bank Statement Template Setup
To create a bank statement template:
- Choose the , icon, and enter Bank Statement Templates, and then select a related link.
- The Bank Statement Templates card page contains the following sections:
- the General section:
- Code - Specifies the template code.
- Description - Specifies a description that identifies the template.
- Interface Code - Specifies the code of an interface used for importing a bank statement (see more in Bank Statement Interfaces).
- the Number Series section:
- Bank Statement Nos. - Specifies the numbering series that is to be used instead of the numbering series that is set by default for bank statements.
- Posted Bank Statement Nos. - Specifies the numbering series that is to be used instead of the numbering series that is set by default for posted bank statements.
Bank Statement Interfaces
To see a list of all available bank statement interfaces:
- Choose the , icon, and enter Bank Statement Interfaces, and then select a related link.
- The list of bank statement interfaces contains the following fields:
- Code (non-editable field) - Specifies the code for the bank statement interface.
- Description.
Tip
To view the list of interfaces that are used to import bank statements, expand the Interface Code field on the Bank Statement Templates page. As with payment proposal interfaces, the interface list is managed automatically and for this reason, you can make only minor changes to the interfaces available.
The file import is set up in the so-called definition files, that is, the files that specify how to analyze bank statements provided by banks. If the banking interface extension supports definition files, you can update these definitions by using the Update Definitions action. For other interfaces, this action restores the definition files to their original version.
Bank Statement Accounts
To assign bank accounts to a bank statement template:
- Choose the icon, and enter Bank Statement Templates and then select a related link.
- Select the Bank Accounts action.
- On the Bank Statement Accounts page create a new record.
- In the Bank Account Code select the relevant account.
Note
Bank accounts assigned to the bank statement template have to meet the criteria described in the Bank Account Setup article.
Bank Statement Template Users
As with payment proposals, you can restrict access to certain templates by selecting users in the list of payment proposal template users. To view or modify the list of users of a bank statement template:
- Choose the , icon, and enter Bank Statement Templates, and then select a related link.
- Select the Users action. Available fields:
