Suggest Payments Lines

Using the Suggest Payments report is one of the methods for creating payment proposal lines automatically. The report enables you to save filters you have set up and it streamlines and automates the creation of payment proposals.

Run Suggest Payments Report

To run the Suggest Payments report:

  1. Choose the Tell me what you want to do icon, and enter Payment Proposals and then select a related link.
  2. On the action bar, choose the Suggest Payments action.

If you have set the templates for suggesting payment proposal lines in the payment proposal template, a list of available templates is displayed. Otherwise, the page where you can select report parameters will be displayed immediately. For more information, read Payment Suggest Templates.

Tip

Choosing the Cancel button on the template list will open the standard Suggest Payments report page, where you can select from an available template in the standard Business Central application.

Suggest Payments

The suggest payments functionality allows you to automatically create payment lines for unapplied vendor or customer entries. The following parameters are available on the Suggest Payments report page:

  • Skip Vendors — Specifies that no payment lines are created for vendors.
  • Skip Employees — Specifies that no payment lines are created for employees.
  • Last Payment Date — Specifies the date that can be displayed in payment lines (only the entries with the due date or payment discount date before the last payment date will be included).
  • Find Payment Discounts - Specifies that the application is to search for ledger entries for which payment discounts can be used.
  • Use Recipient Priority - Specifies that the sequence of transfers in the payment proposal depends on the value in the Priority field in the payment recipient card.
  • Available Amount (PLN) - Specifies the maximum available amount (in the local currency) for the payment. The total amount in the final payment lines cannot be greater than the available amount specified in this field. If you enter 0, the system will not apply the amount limit while suggesting payments.
  • Skip Exported Payments - Specifies that the application skips the entries that have been exported with the standard electronic banking functionality.
  • Summarize per Recipient - Specifies that one payment proposal line is created for each recipient, adding up all payments to that recipient. If you do not select this field, one payment proposal line per document is created.
  • By Dimensions - Specifies that entries are to be totaled by dimensions, if you select Summarize per Vendor.

Optionally, additional vendor and employee filters can be added on the Vendor and Employee FastTabs. To suggest payments for all vendors and employees, remove all filters.

After the parameters are approved, a batch job creates lines for the payment proposal. As a result of the batch job, you can enter additional information, such as the recipient’s bank account, in the newly created lines.
